Lifting a P38

Tyre companies leave the hazards on cos it shows that either the vehicle has the engine running or cos it has Air Suspension.,..

On the P38, opening the boot or a door freezes the EAS to stop it from levelling when lifted....

On the L322 only an open door will freeze the EAS....

Leaving the hazards on does nothing but flash lights!

It stops it leveleing but does not stop the airspring fully extending when lifted, this should be limited by the shock absorber travel.

No but ive never had one pop off

The bags won't pop off either if you use the correct shockers. If the chassis is grounded extended height allows another 20 mm of travel over and above high setting, but this is restricted by the shock absorber travel. The front shocks are 2" or so longer than the rears. If you fit front shocks to the rear the bags can blow off their seats. With the proper shocks fitted they can't. Someone has either mixed up the shocks on fitting or fitted front shocks at the rear for more articulation. But it don't work that way unfortunately. The bags may pop off IF you lift the chassis when car is in low setting or if there is no air in them. Always raise car to high before lifting chassis. Or if there is no air in the system because the EAS is not working, pull the pipes on the valve block to allow air in and not cause a vacuum in the bags which can pull them off.

Thanks for the advice guys, I'll be buying replacement rear shocks then!! I had considered extended bags but there's no point as these are almost new.

Thanks again people.
