Hey guys,

Nice to be on again this morning! Just a quick question but it's one that has me confuzzled!
Everytime I jack up Jonesey (our RR) the rear airbags pop off??? Surely this is not normal. I can't use a 4 post ramp unless I go through depressurisation first and I can't jack it up on the NS at all?
I might be wrong but it seems as if someone has installed oversize shocks but replaced the bags with standard bags, as they're all new.
Thoughts or advice?

CK

Maybe someone has put front shocks on the rear. The front shocks are longer than the rear ones. You must get them the correct way round.

Sounds like its missing the retaining clips that hold the spring in place
They can corrode and break but as you say its both rear probably find somone removed the springs and not refited the clips
Probably when the shocks were replaced Not a big job and very cheep too have a look on the bay of e

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look on fleabay for clips.

They're certainly held on at the top but not at the bottom does this help?

I mean if I go off roading and they reach their limit they're just gonna pop off and leave me stranded.

I'll get my local garage dude to have a look at the serial numbers for the shocker.

When it was on the ramp yesterday the axle was hanging so low on the NS the bag was just hangin there above its seat and the height sensor was maxed out. Had me worried that it would've broken it but all appears to be ok so far.

I really want to get this sorted.

He said the airbag pops off, not thet the unit comes out.

If they haven't been destroyed already, I would get it sorted ASAP , and also get some clips for the base of your air springs if they are missing, the ones that clip through the whole in the spigot on the bottom piston, these do corrode very very quickly ;)

Thanks for the info guys. Does anyone have a picture of where these clips are supposed to attach at the bottom of the spring? I just can't get m head around it. They're definately attached at the top as I gave them some welly reforming the bag.
Right so I need to get replacement rear shocks. Any advice as to where from? Recommendations?

Island 4x4 (no affiliation). Used them a lot. Always been good; quick delivery; order online only but good advise on the phone if you need to check correct parts.

I thought when jacking a P38 you had to have the boot open and the hazards on to prevent this ? it locks the EAS in position apparently
of course I could be a complete spaz and totally wrong :D
