Lift pump, whats all the bits for?

There is a spacer, an extra few bits of pipe , four bolts and some other bits and bobs.
My old pump has none of this, so whats the extra bits for?

same pump used with 200 tdi which uses an ali side plate with a greater depth than earlier steel one ,so lift pump had longer lever ,to use longer lever with earlier plate you needed a spacer

I see, so they dont make the 19j pumps anymore?
