Im after the round gauze filter that sits inside a fuel pump from a 300 tdi. Can i get these seperatly? Where from? What size (micron) is the gauze? I may be able to make one. Thx Ian
 
What's wrong with the one you've got? Cant you clean it ? I've never seen this filter you speak of. I didnt think it was possible to get the lift pump appart without breaking it.
 
buy a new pump ya tight bugger.
i didn't think they could be stripped an put back together sucessfully
i may be wrong :rolleyes:
 
I recently replaced my lift pump. i'd be interested to take a nosey inside to see what caused it to fail. Tell me how to get it appart and if I find the gauze you can have it. Cant make any promises about getting it to you before christmas though. Things are rather manic here atm.
 
The one on the car is a replacement part, not genuine. The top cap is screwed on with a machine screw and comes off. The gauze filter is underneath the cap.
