Lift Kits ??

I think the general concensus here is that you are trying to run before you can walk. No offence meant, so please dont take it the wrong way.

A decent lift kit aint cheap. Why not spend your dosh on more sensable, or worth while mods first?

Off road tyres, (Insa Saharhas?), diff guards, snorkal and wading kit?

i agree a good set of tyres will be more beneficial than a lift kit, diff guards are a no brainer then snork and wading kit then lift kit

I just like to do things right from the start and as for the money side a Disco is so much cheaper than my Subarus !!! No matter what im buying

So its all good i wont end up spending an where near what i have on my Subaru

I intend to add the flexi arch kit so i will be able to run alot wider rubber, do the Insa Sahara come in wider profiles like 265 ?? Or is there abetter tyre to go for ??

The problem with running wider rubber is that you foul on the inside of the tyre, (radious arms?).

Also, you steering lock will be decreased. Mine was on 265's when i first got it. My advice would be...... dont.

Stick to 225's.

Decent tyres is all you need. You can go bigger with tyres without a lift. I've got 265/75 bfg muds on mine and all that was needed was a bit of body surgery. Easier on a 3 door btw as the back doors don't get in the way of the grinder. Bigger rubber will lift your diffs higher so is worth it and doesn't shift the centre of gravity too much so road performance isn't affected too much.

Without any real modification 235/70 16's work a treat. I run Insa Dakars on my Classic but they also did a spell on Ryders Disco. All you need to do is gently persuade a couple of folds inside the rear arches to get clearance. If you go any bigger you will start having clearance issues.
