No it wont be checked, but you will sign the application that it meets the DVLA requirements, the vehicle will then be MOT free, and by that time u shouldn’t be paying for the vehicle tax either.

The vehicle will not re-registered, you will keep the number plate from the first registration, but the taxation class will change to ‘Historic Vehicle’.
Changing tax class the vehicle is something I did back in 2018 and then I received a replacement V5C from the DVLA.

When my 109 reached its 40th birthday I didn't get around to registering it as historic and I taxed it as usual. After a couple of months DVLA wrote to me saying it was historic and they sent me a new v5 and refunded the tax. It was the first time a government body had ever exceeded my expectations.

I thought about after i had logged out, what if the original plate was changed to a personalised one
Well the registration plate the vehicle ran with before the change to Historic would of course be used
My thoughts was basted on my 44year old vehicle which still has the original metal plates although their yellow & white colour, which can be changed to the black silver now... I believe.

Black and silver plates can be used on cars registered before the 1st January 1979 provided it is registered as historic so you will be ok, unlike a lot of new black motors i see with black and silver plates as it matches the car

Ah...... it’s just occurred to me that it’s has a very aged (original) Land Rover 110 sticker on the front (above the grill). It also has an old military number on it (by the fender)
I’m wondering if this is a Frankenrover created by our beloved Army?? in any case, does this alter ANYTHING???

110 van then,and not built as a station wagon or originally had side windows or anything but bench seats in the back,90 station wagons did have rear windows and bench seats unlike 110, no point in not trying though

i wouldnt know what you can get away with im afraid , but technically it shouldnt qualify even if it had bench seats fitted in rear

Sadiq Khan Is the Mayor for the rest of London and who should be taken to the Tower of London.

Thanks for that link, very comprehensive info. though interestingly there doesn't seem to be a 'body style' listing for a 109 station wagon, only an 88.
