LED replacement bulbs for interior lights

I have looked on the forums for anybody who has replaced the standard dull bulbs in the interior lights of the Defender with LED bulbs? Seems to be plenty on offer on eBay and other sites but do they actually offer much better lighting?
Be pleased to hear from anyone who has swapped them and if so where did you get the LEDs?

Done mine in the 90, both back and front ones with a small flat multi LED panel.
The connection was realy easy, as it has a dummy bulb which just fits in the original holder (they are polarity sensitive)
They are much brighter.

I have had one in my 90 for nearly 10-years, works brilliantly and has (so far) proved totally reliable with none of the LED's failing.
Back then I bought a bulk lot off Ebay (from China) and sold the rest on (for a modest profit), think they worked out at about 50P each (inc P&P) whereas UK sellers were selling them for £10 each (they had also probably bought a bulk lot but were making a bit more profit than me).

Did mine a couple of years ago along with the reversing light. Much brighter. Replaced all the dash bulbs with green LED ones as well.

i have tried the 5w capless leds in my D3, (abour 15 in the whole car) and they have been good for about 5 years, the two numberplate ones dont last, but I suspect that is becasue they are in a confined space for long periods of time and the heat kills them, still last 2 plus years though.

Tried the same bulbs in my boat result simply not enough light, tried some cob led boards as suggested above by Raywin, some lasted seconds, other minutes, and out of the eight I fitted only one was still working after a few hours!
I think you need a regulated volt supply to keep the cheap cob boards alive.

So after some research found a company called bedazzled, their cob led boards fitted they are brighter, and more importantly still working many hours later.
I used the G4 wired ones.

I replaced mine with cheap ones from China and they are good. Much brighter.....but....this morning. Jumped in my 110 and turned the key and not a lot happened. Looked and voltage on the battery was about 7V. I did notice last night that the front interior light (LED) had stopped working. Fiddled with it for a minute but it would not come on so thought I would ignore it until the weekend (order some more in the meantime). What it appears is that LED's can fail short (normal bulbs fail open) and so they can flatten your battery when they fail. Also feel that they need a small (1 or 3A fuse) either built into them or at least in line to stop it happening again.... I would still though definitely go LED.s,
