I’ve just put in new led Headlights on my 200 you defender. They are working fine except when I turn them of the dip light stay lit very dimly. So I checked the wires and there’s 5 volt going to the light when it’s turned off any suggestions? Thanks in advance

If it’s a 200tdi, and you have made a typo, search for the “dim dip” relay. It’s a pink or black relay behind the dash clocks that sends a voltage through a large resistor on the rhs front inner wing. I’m guessing here as I haven’t ever tested the output from the resistor, but it could well be 5V dc. If it is, remove and bypass the dim dip relay and it should sort it.

it may be the voltage transformer causing the problem these were fitted to put the dipped beam on low when the side lights were on bit like daylight running lamps probably ok in Sweden on later versions the dim dip relay try removing the relay may be feeding back the dim dip resistor and the electronics in the relay

Thanks for the help all sorted. It was a resistor well I think it’s a resistor behind the dash I unplugged this and it was all good
