anyone know if you can repair a leaky steering box , appears to be leaking from top of unit , hunted round to find a gaskt set but no look
also tried the lucus powersteering stop leak (guaranteed to stop your leak) my arse guaranteed to cost 4 times more than mornal fluid
any ideas ?

Zeus Engineering (Google for them, I can't be arsed :) ) make an "uprated" seal kit for the 3 and 4 bolts LR PAS boxes. To be honest it is better/more cost effective in the long term to fit a recon box. Replacement seals only work it you catch the leak early and the shaft in the box doesn't have any score marks in it......these will damage seals in no time.

Don't mess about with it, it will just cause more grief, as Andy says the seal kits are a menace and the chances are you will spend time stripping it out fixing it up, fitting it back in and it will just leak again.

At Christmas I did mine got an Adwest recon (OEM - don't use anyone else, CERTAINLY not NATIONAL POWER STEERING - they are a complete joke of a company who will send you back a painted, leaky worn one) it cost me about £140 all up in the end inc a new drop arm etc...
