Hi all have had my screen on my disco replaced last week auto windscreens fella said it was leaking for some time corrosion in certain places ect but didn't say it was serious. Next Lot of rain water was dripping from headlining so was called again and replaced next bloke said screen wasn't pushed in properly.
Low and behold got in this morn and puddles in drivers footwell, whilst it had ingressed into this area before initial screen replaced was nothing like the deluge that is now there. They where babbling on about there being an issue with discos re the spot welds on the aperture failing and this causes them to leak. Is this a common issue or are they just trying to fob me off.? Are coming out again to replace so any advise would be greatly appreciated so I can arm myself with a bit of knowledge.... Many thanks in advance

It's a fob off . Took them 3 goes to almost fix mine I say almost! In the end I sealed it myself . They told my wife on atempt 2 that it would take over 6 months for the sealant to fully harden !!! And stop leaking.so my tip is stand and watch make shaw they put a good amount of sealent round an that when they push it in look at the top corners . And make shaw the top rubber trim is fully in the corner of the frame . They offen don't pull it right to the edge and you can get your finger in it . Not only will water run along under the trim it will also whisle like a song bird when driving .If there is a gap. ask them to pipe in more sealent and run extra sealent down the edge of window before they put the piller trim back on . I know its not nice you have to watch but as you had problems , it's best you do. That way you will at least have a better understanding on how the screen fits . Hope you get it sorted :)

Thanks for that gents their out this morn to rectify, can seen by the link that sierrafery sent that the rubber isn't in the corner as it should be third time lucky !!!

Windscreen bonding skins in 20mins with enough grab fator for a safe drive aways in one hour, if your screen leaks, its a bad glue bead, bead in the wrong place, gaps in the glue bead, glue knocked over when glass is placed.if the glass is not prepared properly, it can come lose or leak because of silicon contamination (green snakes) dont let them bulls**t you

see the link above this is where mine was leaking from if the sealer in the gutter is cracked it can leak.

the white is the primer under where I pulled the loose seam sealer off them the line going across from 11 oclock to 4 Oclock is where the 2 panels meet and where the water gets in

Thats where mine was leaking, found it after spending a weekend with headlining and rooves out:mad:

Windscreen seems not to be leaking now but water is still coming in between inner and outer skin at bottom corner of door by footwell. After taking the hose off the screen it still keeps coming in for a couple of mins afterwards and also through the wires that go through to the drivers door by the grommet. Am thinking that the drain homes must be blocked also but would have a clue how to locate them any ideas.?
