I posted a thread on here a while ago about water coming into the footwell. I have pressured washed the car since but found no obvious signs of entry although no one in the car at time, used newspaper as a guide to where was wet.

Anyway, at the weekend I had parked the car with engine running, got out to unload some stuff and noticed by the centre console water running in where the plastic console meets the carpet. It wasnt raining at the time but what I noticed was that the car was on a slope with the engine facing upwards. I checked under the bonnet to see if I could see any spray coming off from rad etc (everything seemed in order) but the water was warm. I'm thinking (and hoping) that it was from the water pooled in the engine bay which would be slightly warm due to heat given off & when on the slope ran back and got in that way....rather than something mechanical leaking. It didnt have any smell too it but I cant be 100% sure its anything else. I noticed there are some sponge filter type things which were slightly loose near windscreen but I am guessing this is more to do with stopping debris rather than water....

Think its best to take it in.....but where the hell could something running in find a path from engine bay to inside the plastic console..... Temp on rad is ok I know people have mentioned some other type of fluid before which can be at fault??

Hi thanks for that....would that mean the air con isnt working if blocked or just less effective? And not knowing much but is there obviously a limited amount of liquid that comes out before it goes dry or is it more to do with condensation?? I havent been using air con when this has occured but fans have been on. Gives me a starter to check with garage....I take it there is nothing I can do to check myself not being that mechanically minded?

its condensation from the evaporator, it'll still work as normal but the evaporator box will fill with water to the point where water is thrown out of the vents.

I take it you have a disco series 2? air con on these is always on unless you push the "econ" button

Hi

Yeah its a 52 plate and "econ" is generally on at the moment due to this Welsh Winter we still seem to be suffering from.....

I did wonder how on some extremely wet days it didnt seem wet and other times it was.....

Whats the labour element going to be like to fix this if it is this fault - and I appreciate your help :)
