i live in the area, not done as much greenlaning as i'd like( always at work, earning the money to keep the disco running ) but i can recommend the lane that goes from Ickenthwaite to Nibthwaite, i've done that a few times, a mate of mine was up there the other day on his trials bike and he said the water was almost up the spark plug, its not a ford just big puddles, i've never seen them that deep myself

Ok holidays over Thanks to everyone who replied. Unfortunatly I didn't manage to get any Laning done as every one that I tried had a gate accross it. Still it is a beautifull area and I'm glad that I forgot to take my phone cause it was nice to be away from it all (Loadsa missed calls from work). totally recomend the area and big thanks to Red for the heads up on Lower wray Camp site- Just the ticket. ;)

Were the gates locked? If they were legal rights of way as listed on the national park website that would surely be illegal?

Dunno about the legality but yeah they were all locked. Something to do with being a catchment area (for the local water authority I think)
