Hi I have recently joined the community and am the proud owner of a Series 3 Stage 1 V8 LWB station wagon which I have owned for over 25 years. I have recently rebuilt it on a galvanised chassis and new front bulkhead, but have had to change the engine due to a cracked block. The replacement engine came with twin SU's as opposed to the original Strombergs; I am having difficulty in figuring out what the two connections are for from each carb - where do the hoses go? I assume one is for the flame trap from each rocker box?

Any help diagrams or pics would be greatly appreciated so I can get the Landy resprayed and back on the road.

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum :)
By coincidence yours' is the only one I'd have if ever I returned to series ownership after 16 years of RR classics. I suspect the lack of responses to your intro. is a result of this model being so uncommon but it's great to know that stage one's are still alive out there & extreme rarity means it's well worth preserving. If your engine replacement came from a car (or even a later Defender/RR) you obviously have a useful power boost. Sadly I too am unable to help with advice as all my V8's have been EFI's but I'm sure help will be forthcoming eventually.

Not seen any more posts from you, did you manage to sort your needs & in response to Jame's question have you any pics ?
I don't normally follow the Series sub-forum, hopefully you got some help from the folks on there.

25 years is a long time in vehicle ownership terms, the longest I can manage is just under 9 with my present RRC & back in the distant past 5+ with a Series 3.
