Landy lover needs advice please

The wifes 02 freelanders clutch pedal has decided to pop 3 to 4 more inches up, meaning you have to lift your leg in the air to depress it,although once the clutch has gripped , as long as you do'nt remove your foot it works as normal. does anyone know if it just might be a "RETAINING" spring thats come off or might it be something more sinister, any advice would be most appreciated as i'm a v8 disco driver and have only recently converted her to a landy..thanks..brian..(hoylandy)

I would say a retaining spring or pin has come off. Get you head in the foot well and have a look. Take a torch too, it's dark down there
