Hi People

I have just got my Landrover TD4 ES 9 days ago after owning peugeots Diesels for the last 7 years. I'm gutted toda as my car broke down yesterday and the garage reckon it is the master slave cylinder. The car was first registered in October 2004. I have read so much about Landrover Freelanders and none of it good apart from the TD4 ES BMW Diesel engine. I can't help feeling that I may have made an awful mistake! I have two children and 2 Jobs and my car has to be reliable.

I suppose I am just looking for some feedback as I am really not sure if I should try and put pressure on the garage to get my money back or swap for another make. Has anyone here got anything to offer with regards to advice on this car and my predicament as I cannot stand the thought of buying a lemon?

Thanks

Penny

The TD4 is a good engine by all accounts, the only main problem freelanders have are with the 1.8 petrol engine made by rover everything else seems fine so i wouldn't worry the fault you have could happen to any vehicle, i have not heard of this eing a common fault!!! hope this helps Graham

i have a land rover 200tdi discovery i have owned it for 2 years recently we have been having trouble 2nd gear. 2nd gear seems stiff to engage and also when going in to 1st gear reverse can sometimes be selected instead of 1st. can you give me any idea of what the problem is or do i require a new box.

thanks
