Hey everyone!

Needing help here,

My Landrover Freelander 2004 TD4 , starts fine but only idles (no Throttle) after 15/20 mins of idling the throttle starts to work correctly , any idea please ?

Thanks Andy

Note: Have checked plugs on the Throttle and to the ECU,

It sounds like a problem with the pedal position sensor. You need to hook up a diagnostic device that will show you live data from the throttle pedal position sensor. This is the only real way to test it's working. The EDC simply takes the pedal position signal and alters fuelling to increase engine output.

There's another possibility that the fuel rail sensor is faulty or has bad/ corroded connections. However the rail sensor normally reduces the power delivery, not cut it completely.

Could be a maf sensor - one of my Td4s was like this and fine once it’d got it out of its system but everyone you started it was the same until I replaced the maf

Would a test for this be to unplug the MAF? Going by threads on here, it will then use a default value that would make the engine run better than the OP is experiencing.
