Hi;
We have a Landrover Freelander 2 TD4XS. The front tyre tread around the edges is worn low and the outer edge seems to be shredding.
The tyres are marked M+S and area 235/65/R17 104V.
These are all weather tyres and I believe they are Run Flat as we have no spare

Couple of questions:
1. What tyres should we get?
2. Should we go to ATS or back to our local Landrover Dealer?
3. Can you put the backs on the front if the backs are OK and change the rear tyres.

Thanks

I'm new so probably completely wrong, but I read that you need to try to keep all 4 matching as you don't want excess wear, or uneven running messing up the 4wd etc..

So my plan is when I need to change them go for 4 matching Ines, and then rotate them around one place every 3 - 4 month :) (probably a completely wrong idea).

Freelander 2 never came with run flat tyres - you may have a can of goo and a pump or someone took out the spare wheel - depends on age of car and what's in the boot

To be honest get a price from your local Land Rover dealer as they may be cheapest and then try the likes of ATS etc. As a comparison

On Freelander 2 the diffs take out any rolling radius differences if they are minimal

New tyres should always go on the rear regardless of car so it's ok to move the backs to the front and new on the rear.

This was a brand new car in 2013 (TD4 XS) and does not come with a spare or anywhere to fit one. I am sure in the orginal sales bumf it said run flats?

Apart from a large poystyrene boot filler for putting bulbs oil etc - I guess if you took that out it may take a spare?

Run flats are marked as such and are normally a lower profile than 65%. Run flats need stiff, low sidewalls to keep the rim off the road.

You can remove the polystyrene tray and fit a spare, jack and wheel brace in but sourcing them at a reasonable price could be tough!

Hi
I have 18 wheels, just bought a new Pirelli Scorpion from Amazon, cheaper than My Tyres or Black Circles, the local indie LR dealer fits for a tenner.
The Pirellis have great grip & good mileage .

I fitted Pirelli Scorpion ATR to my D3. Well worth the money and will do everything a Land Rover will ever need.
