Off to a Land Rover experience afternoon in Honiton tomorrow (friday)
I chose a Defender and have got a 110 Station Wagon, which is cool by me, as that's exactly what I'd like in the future.

I chose that car because it's the closest thing available in the current line up to driving my 98 Disco 1, the Disco and the Rangie now have the terrain response stuff and at least in the defender I can put to practice in my Disco anything that I learn cos it's set up the same with the manual box and manual hi/low/diff stick.

The guys at work were giving me gip today as I left, saying "Should have chose a Rangie, how many times in your life are you going to get the opportunity to take a high end V8 rangie wading through mud and up steep hills and generally get dirty in such a high end vehicle"

Hmmm, never thought bout it like that, I'd still choose the Defender for the same reason if I got the chance to change my mind.

So, which vehicle would you have chosen and why if you had the chance to drive a brand new Land Rover around a Land Rover course?

i used a defender at eastnor last month my mate works there and needed a dummy driver to go round! i too was glad it was in a defender as you do still have to drive the vehicle not the other way round! mind you saying that the anti stall on the new puma is pretty impressive hope you have a great day

I'd say you've made the right choice, hopefully you'll get some experience which will help with your Discovery.
I've heard of people who've managed to return several times, I think it's a case of going on the Land Rover Website, asking for a Test drive, and thinking carefully about the answers you give to questions about when you are thinking of changing your vehicle, and what for. Then you can try something with more technology on it.

Great afternoon, that new Defender is awesome.

Deffo worth a go. And if I had a spare £28k I'd have one in a flash, it was refined (for a defender) half leather seats, aircon, fans that work, heaters that hear in the areas you tell them to heat..

And it was fantastic to drive on the road 40mph into 6th and kept on chugging and even had a bit of acceleration. I really would trade the Disco in for it if I had that kind of money.

If I get the choice to try it again I'd go for the Disco.. Infact, I might go fill out another form

; )

i went in a nice new l322 vogue when i went.Awesome beast that, maybe ya work mates woz right but you sound pleased with ya day.

I did a half day at Eastnor in a 110 last March. First time off road and learnt the basics. A great half day made even better by the fact that I was the only on driving the 110, so I had all the driving.

It's a bit pricey, but it was a Valentines Day pressie off my girlfriend.

Good friendly folk and just about any shape or size of Defender, Freelander, Discovery and Rang Rover available for you to have a play in.

Chris.
