I've decided to put my 90 project up for sale, as I've found a Disco I want instead.

I bought this as a non-runner, with the intention of putting it back on the road and using it to tow my horse trailer to pony club stuff for my eldest daughter. In the meantime the missus bought a horse lorry, so the 90 has become redundant.

The Good.
Chassis is pretty solid. It has had a recent rear crossmember, and everything else is fine. There are patches of welding here and there, but all welding chassis wise has been done.

Doors are ok. It looks like they have been repaired in the past, but they're not the worst I've seen.

It comes with the Ifor Williams canopy and mesh tailgate.

Engine starts and runs really well ( it's a 19j). Very little smoke from cold. Pulls well through all gears.

HD drive flanges on the rear.

V5 here and in my name.

The Bad.

No mot or tax.

Seats are knackered, they're there and they work, but they really need replacing.

No headlining.

Bulkhead has had the top corners repaired (not by me), it's not the prettiest of jobs.
The footwells have small holes, and there is a patch needed near the brake servo.

I took it for a pre-mot 2 weeks ago and it failed on the following.
Fog light not working, I've replaced the whole unit, but I think it's probably the switch
Small patch of weld near the brake servo.
Play in the drop-arm ball joint.
Exhaust insecure. (Fixed)
Passenger door won't open from the inside. (Fixed)

That's it. She's not pretty, and if it doesn't sell at this price, I'll fix it up over the summer and use it for the shooting season.

£1500. Berkshire.

Hope you don't mind me saying but its a shed, ripped, rusty and unloved:rolleyes:

No, I don't mind at all.

Yes, it LOOKS like a shed, but the actual base is sound, the chassis is fine.
To my mind, a decent weekends fettling and you've a roadworthy 90.
That's one of the reasons I've advertised it here first, as many people on here are looking for a fixer-upper.

As I've said, if it doesn't sell on here I'll keep it. It's not going on eBay, or anywhere else.

I'm toying with the idea of turning it into a van...

Sorry I can't help you with a sale, but your thread and the discussion about price is very interesting as I also have a very similar 90 2.5 TD (1988) 19J for sale, I've had it for about 10 years but its been off the road for the past 18 months. Mine is in very similar condition, but with an excellent bulkhead. But mine has a very smoky 19J engine, it does start and run but smokes like anything, I suspect a 200TDI is the way to go but

I already have my TD5 as well so I'm not too keen on spending the time/money fixing the 2.5TD up, mine has brand new Grizzly claw's, decent wheels and rear roll cage, and I was hoping it was worth £1,400. It sounds like I may need to lower my expectations a bit (or fix it up myself), I'm reluctant to sell it really but I can see it just sitting there rotting away if I don't sell it to someone who wants a good project base.

:)
