Land Rover V8

Just seen the first practical reliable use for the V8.

With all the junk removed and the block shot blasted, stood on end with some S/S legs and a glass table top, makes a perfect wine rack:clap2::hysterically_laughi:clap2:

Funny that-Clarkson did it with a Porsche 928 block on T** G*** some years ago

Think they did for that show. But unless the Porsche block has grown four new cylinders the one mostly seen on TG is a V12 jag block.

Wasn't it from the XJS they launched off the carrier..??

Maybe Ant i don't know. But the Porsche block disappeared and was replaced by a Jag block early on. Not a lot of people will have noticed but i did. I have a 928 and it don't have 12 cylinders.

That would be because Clarkson made that in order to increase the value of his pretty much dead Porsche, in order to win the price challenge. He had already sold the V8 table and the electrically operated chairs next to it, so of course they couldn't further appear. Someone bought them for £600 (which added to the price of the spares led him to win the challenge. See Series 5 Episode 6 for further details

Must admit the same (sort of) thought occurred to me when my 3.9 slipped a liner several years ago, stuck to 3.5's since & had no problems.
