Hi all, I need help identifying a shade of blue on my 95 110 CSW. I've checked the VIN plate and the colour code wasn't stamped on. I've been on the Paintman site and the colour charts aren't conclusive. This is the shade of blue in trying to identify.....

She's been resprayed, you do know that?
Could be any colour under the sun not just a landy colour.
A paint supplies place could match it for you using their colour swatches.

If she's been resprayed it was resprayed in the original blue as the interior 'including behind the dash is in this blue '. I just need the name so I can order from the paint man. What makes you think she's been resprayed Flossie

It's too shiney! Looks far too good for a 95 tbh.
The decals are not correct either furthering my doubts.
My landy has non original paint behind the dash too because it's easy to do during a restoration.

Why not get the VIN and call your local landy dealer and ask to speak to the guy in the spares dept?

Looks a lot like " windjammer blue" to me. Mine is that colour,at least the parts that have been recently painted,the rest is rather faded.

I got the full history of her and there is no mention of a respray. Body stripes are actually very faded. The other shades of silver and grey have faded out.

I'm looking at her on my phone so not a great quality pic.
Maybe she is scruffier than she looks but to me, far too shiney for an original 95. The bonnet decal is later/non original.
I think that the row of rivits holding the filler piece on behind the 2nd row door would not have paint on as standard but I'm not 100% on that or who told me.

Also, paint shades change during production runs but the name doesn't with some car manufacturers.
If you do find the colour name and order on that info alone, there is a strong chance of disappointment heading your way.
Best get it matched by a supplier , they can tweak the mix so it's just right for faded paint and will give you a code for future purchases.

Good advice from the members. I have an ex ESB defender 90 which was originally supplied in white. It was then painted by the ESB in their standard Yellow. At some point in time it had a good bit of damage to the body and was subsequently repaired and patch sprayed. When I got it the driver door fell of and was replaced with a new one which needed to be painted.

Al in all, I have three, if not four, different shades of yellow

It's very difficult to get a precise match, even if you do have the original colour. The paint fades and changes over time and there's nothing you can do to overcome this.

No she's that shiny. The bonnet decal is one I put on. Good point about the fading. I'll look into getting it matched. I've seen this colour on a Disco of the same age.

Get yourself down to your nearest (large) Halfrauds, where they can 'electronically match' your existing colour ... including the fading!
I was amazed at how accurate it is, and they give you the full paint code if you speak to them nicely!
