Hiya
does anyone else like me find themselves wanting to spend every last penny on land rover bits etc?
In a recent discussion about what i'd do with £5000, my first response was td5:)
not holiday, or shoes or plastic surgery or whatever women are supposed to want to do, another landrover.
i actually dream about putting all sorts of weird and wonderful things on my disco. i had a really vivid dream where i spent a fortune on an electronic lifting kit so i can still go in multistorey carparks( mother of 3 = lots of time in A+E) etc, but could lift her for off roading. as well as my birthday list including a car stereo and a set of mudtyres on steel rims, a snorkel, it really seems to have taken over my brain.
i love my land rover more than anything.:D

Is that all? I dream of winning the lottery and buying enough land to go out getting muddy in a nice 5.0 supercharged Range Rover all day long.

You sound perfectly normal to me.

:5biagree: my wife thinks I'm a nut because whenever I have spare cash it goes on the Disco, and she's flabbergasted by my wish-list for extra bits:D ... personally I reckon it's these non-landy people who have issue's:crazy:

its not an illness its an addiction, ive been told its less expensive to take heroin

But you get a better "high" in a Landy;)

Sounds normal to me too, relaxation is bolting on some more goodies.Think my missus would go more down the mental illness route.Remember its a Land Rover thing, they wouldnt understand!Enjoy the madness.

my misses thinks i have a mental illness to the point she made me sell my lovely p38 cos its to big for her to drive and now got a crappy BMW 3 series estate but no way she is having my 110 csw so please can you tell her its totally normal for this addiction much appreciated bodie

She was right in getting you to sell the P38;), as for the 110, tell her to do one or divorce her:)

give her no other option but to drive the landy.she'll hate it at first, i was bricking it going from a fiesta to a disco, but now i've fallen in love with them and can't contemplate another car. :D

have you tried getting her involved in maintenance? my mates either fall into the 'eurgh i'll get my hndsdirty/ break a nail' camp and fook off and stop nagging, or they help, enjoy it, and bam, you've got a shared interest, she will encourage you to play, modifybits etc, either way you win;)

would i really want the missus poking around my oily bits?

this is MY sanity time. hers is watchin telly.

its therapeatic. kind of.

edit - unless she knew what she were doin'. which she dont.

how's she going to learn tho, if she don't have a go? havin said that, i've been under and around cars in various states of destruction as long as i've been alive, (i'm more like the son they never had....lol) so am more comfortable with cars and blokes than girly girls and hair tongs.(a less likely avon lady i've yet to meet);)
i realised i'm probably not viewed by many blokes as i know as a girl, coz they call me mate now, not babe...:D

wouldnt descriminate against anyone doin it or havin a go.
babe would be a **** take for someone i knew in your position (not that i know any girls / babes / lasses that work on motors)(shame!)

likewise, i wouldnt be able to do her job either. she's a vet nurse!
unless it had already carked it.

oh, and the washing up thing-
keep avin to rewash her stuff as she only washes the inside of stuff.
leaves the bean juice etc. stuck on the outside.....

dishwasher.....can also be used to clean car parts on a cool cycle:D

why on cool cycle?
me mothers used to work well on hot. brought ally up beutiful.
an the oven were good for dryin wet starters out.....

dont have space in house for dish washer, cost too much, mek yer lazy, and washin up's good way of gettin me hands clean.
occasionally she does it.

babe.

:D

a R/R for playing in the mud? Really?

Seems a bit boring to me, i'd go with a custom converted series or defender, probably open topped and just go and get muddy and wet and come back with a huge smile on my face (probably daily)
