pikey went on one with badger and vagrent I think, have a word with them. Think it was last year  :D

I`ve been on two LRE courses - your voucher is for the familiarisation course (half a day), the ones I went on were Introduction to off-road driving (full day) and Advanced Off road driving (full day). Unless its changed the familiarisation course is based on the morning session of the Introductory course, a small part of which is a classroom briefing.
I did one at Solihull and one at Milton Keynes - Solihull was interesting because the course is at the Lode Lane factory (the receptionist had to get up and move Lara Croft`s Tomb Raider v8 so we could get out............) but its less challenging ( the "stream" has a concrete base.......).
To be honest LRE courses are only as good as the other people on them and the instructor. If I was doing them again I would look for a quiet time to book, less people in the car means a better experience (and usually more time driving), the instructor is pot luck - I was lucky the second time and got the guy that LRE used to teach the other instructors, he was superb. I did both courses in Defenders and I was glad they weren`t my car seeing what they got put through
Tne courses are worth doing if you have little off-road experience or it is all in a different vehicle - keep checking the LRE website for special offers if you want to do a full day, its amazing how the prices come down as you get nearer to the course date and they need to fill places. There were loads of people on familiarisation courses when I was there, in every type of LR product.

did the LRE course at Estnor Land Rover set up for the red cross, it was excellent, I'd been greenlaning and out in bad weather before, but they gave really good pointers, well worth it in my veiw

The eastnor course is great....i have run it quite a few times now

Am booked on a full day for my birthday. Also if you add them on fb sometimes they do an offer of a free half day. :)
