i posted recent about my td5 key fob not opening the td5. which then does not start or even try to crank due to the immobolisor still being on.
when its bone dry the td5 starts everytime using same key and responder.
however i cannot wait until the summer, so after help off u all ive changed the key battery, and car battery. no chance so have ordered a new responder
my questions are is responder just a plug and go and does not need to be programmed in.
and the eka code where i been told will start the td5 overiding the immobolisor, will this 100 per cent work to start the td5 at least? thanks

Yes plug and play and the EKA should allow your car to start,

Did you read the attachment I linked to before?

Cheers
hi mate just txt u on another post....
right yes tried to read it did what i could.
so i got a new battery.
key fob is new battery and both buttons light up. it said when tested it the signal was fine in the shop.
took out responder and dried it but nothing changed still no crank only dash lights on
so if new responder does not work i will try the eka code thing

I saw that and replied . LOL.

Sounds good, hopefully receiver will fix it, and also hope that no-one has changed your EKA code. Did you get your EKA code?

no eka code i need to buy, but one question about that. will using a eka code still work even tho the td5 isnt cranking at all? there is nothing just lights on dash.

OK, You can get the EKA from a LR dealer for free.

Is the little red LED on the dash when you try and start the car?

thought the td5 would at least be trying to turn for that eka to work, i hope im wrong and the non cranking issue isnt a problem when using the eka code

Take your V5 and proof of who you are to a LR dealer and ask them to give you the EKA code.

I have always understood it is free, some are known to give it over the phone ....but not all.

If no joy then go online and pay £20.

Cheers

LR main dealer should give the EKA foc based on ownership evidence

one thing noticed on old responder it has some of that green colour u mentioned on the pins. is there any spray i can try clean it up with incase the connectors clean

You could try cleaning carefuly, I have used scotchbrite to gently clean contacts / connectors before while using an electrical cleaner / brake cleaner to help clean. But no guarantees it will help. If it is broke, it cannot hurt to try. You have nothing to lose.

one thing i have noticed u said check that wasnt there was the bolt that holds up the responder u said check its clean and dry etc well on mine the wire goes intpo the responder, then the responder goes into a black casing that just sits in a slot above head liner is doesnt have a bolt or anything like that to screw to roof. is this normal?
