Problem is that your Disco really is too good for breaking; what I need is the well-serviced combo you got in your car: 200 TDI + 380 gearbox and later transfer case but you have done so much to the undercarriage that won't go on a Defender. My conscience says it is a shame to break. Besides it cost a tidy little sum to drive it back to Denmark, it's close to 1000 miles + the ferry at Dover. I will watch your thread a little longer and wish you make a quick sale, if nobody takes it at £800 I will make you an offer. Sounds fair to you...? ;-)

After careful consideration and a good look at what else is out there, I've reached the following conclusion: The Disco is so close to MOT that I won't be able to get it out of UK by the 22nd, it's got no tax and to get it road legal will take at least £350 (6 months tax £121, steering sorted + MOT at least £150, shortterm insurance £72....). Not wanting to cash in on your misfortune, mate, but I can't offer you more than £400. I can get a '94-'96 running 200 TDI with 12 months MOT and less mileage for around £600 so that's my offer. Let me know what you think.

a little low i understand the steering and what not but its owes me over 1300 and i know you dont get back what you put back in but the engine is worth that alone

Only way you will get near that is to break it and sell nearly everthing, asuming its all good!

[smile] I agree with him[/smile]

Regardless of the amount of time/money spent on maintaining the motor. It's still a £500 car.. How you can possibly think that a 200tdi engine is worth £400 to £600 is beyond me. they're going on ebay for as little as £100.

I think you've let your heart rule your mind over this. and have seriously overpriced the disco. My advice is stick it on ebay with a £400 reserve and cross your fingers.

My R reg 300tdi disco was less than £800. albeit, it did need a fair bit of welding doing.
