I've picked up these wheels, and was told they would fit my 1986 90.

I tryed to fit the rear first to make sure they would miss the drums, which they do, but there a really sloppy fit around the studs.

What nuts do I need to secure them to my Landy?

As there no way my original nuts are going to fit:mad:

Thanks

Just done a similar thing Gofish and went to me local landy bits supplier and he provided me with 20 nuts to fit perfect.
There are two sizes of thread on defenders and you need the older larger size then your off.Only thing i have to sort out now is adjustin lock stops (as advised on here by MHM I think, cheers mate) so the tyres dont hit the radius arms on full lock

you also need to have the right type of nuts.. tapered ones fer steel wheels and 'flat' ones fer alloy wheels, other wise you will be driving down the road and find yopur self suddenly saying " oh! look there goes a wheel like wot i got on me disco!"

I think he also wants to be sure the STUDS are long enough to get the right nuts to have enough engagement so the wheels don't come off.

As I recall, there are several lengths of wheelstuds.

Depending on the type of nut, if it's a "low type" you need 3 full thread lengths protruding from the nut. If it's a long nut (more than 6 full thread lengths) you can get away with it being flush.

Sorry to be a Paula, just quoting BS3692 ;)

The correct hubs for alloys will have a line or triangle on the end of the studs

I drove a customers defender once that had those wheels on when he came in with a vibration problem, the problem being they were about to fall off.
