pleases help re; bulkhead vent seals.
old ones disintegrated after the old lass stood in an orchard for 2 years , so i gently removed the pins from the vents and removed them and cleaned up the old metal, what would anyone advise me to repaint the bare metal with before i re assemble, and what would be the best contact adhesive to use to re stick new seals with.

I used superglue but only because that's all I had. Seems to have worked though. I would think any etch primer will be ok for the paint.

i've got a tin of red oxide that i was going to use but wanted to check before i went ahead.
more concerned about the glue paint combination as the seals have cost me £16 and i don't want to mess them up.

I haven't had any paint peeling cos of the glue, in fact, it's about the only part of the entire landy that doesn't have paint peeling. Make sure you clean the bit were the seal sticks to, I used petrol.
