l332 temp sensor location

Hi,

I have a 2002 l332 4.4 petrol, i am looking for the ambient temperature sensor as it only reads 5 degrees......even if the car has been in a heated garage overnight, on my TD6 it is secured to the rear of the front grill....any idea's where it is please.

Another thing i noticed when i was searching is that the front electric radiator is running all the time when the engine is idling, even though it's not up to temperature......is that normal or should i be looking to replace something?

On a final note which makes me think i have a failed thermostat is that the top pipe to the radiator is boiling hot, but the bottom hose is cold, also the sensor in the bottom hose is only showing low degree's on the diagnostic machine.

The temperature gauge only shows normal and never signs of getting to hot.

thanks for the reply, but mine is definatley not there, on my TD6 it is there though, have tried to trace the wiring incase it has fell out and is hanging......only wiring in the vicinity goes to the electric fan and the parking sensors, thought it may have fell out as the previous owner replaced the grill and lights for supercharged ones.
