Hi guys.

I’m luke

This is my first post in a forum,
I have a 07 L322 tdv8 vogue se with an Overfinch conversation.
I’m looking for some help..

The car has been perfectly reliable the 18months I’ve owned it. Until last week.
It’s started with a fault on the direction headlights that would clear its self once I had been running a while. Then a few days later there would be another fault, this time with airbags that would also clear once I had been driving, same with air suspension and abs until it got to a point where every system in the car showed a fault followed by the engine turning off.

I know this points to a battery that’s failing or failed so to try in prove this I removed the battery and charged it in my house overnight and did the touch of the pos and neg on the car for good measure before reconnecting.

Now when I put the key in the ignition I get no response from the dash whatsoever. The parking break is indicated and all interior lights and windows, sat nav etc work but no lights on the dash that suggest it’s testing the systems or any response from analog clocks.

I know this is long winded but any help would be appreciated

HI

I Thought i would write an update incase anyone else experiences the same issue.

After some time and fault finding it became obvious what the fault was.

Faulty ignition switch.

i purchased for one for £105 and replaced it myself or though i should point out that the entire dash, and i mean almost every panel and two airbags has to come off to access this.

So if you have an L322 on a 07-09 plate (mine is a vogue se) that was shown many spurious faults followed by an unresponsive dash and are unable to read with your diagnostics tool any service that use the can bus system (because they all go through the dash). This would be an inexpensive place to look first. (after you've checked your battery that is.

I would like to say as well i have no experience with range rover repairs but i was able to address this problem myself with the use of the workshop manual, so be confident and give it a go your self
