L322 L322 TD6 what's it worth 220,000 miles

To be honest after driving my disco 1 after the rangie I don't think it has as much play as the disco which has recently passe mot..
It did have advisory last mot on anti role bar and play in the suspension so may need a bush or 3
 
It'll need a near side rear light for sure, front light was an advisory so will prob pass again. Tyres. Hmmm borderline but as you said, £100 maybe to replace the pair
 
I recently replaced my anti roll bars. Only one had a bush gone but I replaced both. I think both sides in parts were like £20. That was the only knocking thing in the suspension.

With front lights and factory HIDs you should have a functioning self leveling and headlamp washer system otherwise it should be failed but many garages don't care as long as the lights make the required pattern and are not aiming too high or too low.
 
Well it's a crack in the lense so I guess I'll have to see. Not letting in water, the rear is letting in water and almost certainly will need to be changed. I'm thinking I might get away with the windscreen with a carelessly left newspaper. It runs across the bottom of the screen and can only really be seen from the inside.(unless there's a newspaper on the dash)The wiper covers it on the outside. Another expense saved in the short term maybe
 
So just an update on the car. Turns out I've been given the car. Bargain.so at least I can throw some money at it and have a cheap useable l322 without the risk of losing money.
First thing I need to sort is the battery drain.
Any help would be grateful.
If I leave it closed up but unlocked the battery will drain to low to start the car within an hour. If it's locked it will drain over a couple of days.
I'm thinking the final stage resistor as that seems the most common issue but can I isolate the system to confirm this before I start throwing money at it?
 
About the windscreen is a sneaky move but they should not move your stuff in the car. If it is obstructed then simply its not available to them.
That depends on the tester, if they cannot get a clear view of the whole windscreen they can just refuse the test. Same with leaving car seats in the back. The guy round here will just loudly say "there is xyz in the way, I will have to fail it with that there" then will make a point of walking around the vehicle giving you time to get it out of the way. Usually because I always forget to remove my phone cradle.
 
a cracked windscreen will only fail the MOT if its in the drivers line of sight , ask me how I know this :)
 
To be honest trying to be sneaky about something so simple to fix (i.e. call your insurance company then wait for the man to come and swap your screen while you sip on a mug of tea) is a complete waste of time and if it some freak accident happened or you were involved in a crash and your windscreen didn't do its job properly then you know what it is.

If your windscreen is faulty then fecking change it yeah?
 
Yeah my view is that changing it would be best. Only trouble is I don't have windscreen cover in my insurance. when it comes to renewal time I'll get that added
 
On another note, Bitnix, you said the mirrors can be repaired, is there a how to somewhere? I looked around but couldn't find anything,

Looking nice now. Picked up a set of disco 4 alloys with new tyres cheap enough. Makes a huge difference.
Mot pass today so I'm happy
