Good afternoon all,
I have been watching this website for a while now. If I needed any info I done a search and found answers that I needed.
few days ago I done the the oil change. And noticed that I was getting a leak from the radiator. From passenger side.
I'm by no means a novice at mechanical work.
Can someone point me n the right direction of what 2 tools are needed to get the cowling off as I have read that the fan has to come off.
The replacement rad is a behr 1

Can you point me in the right direction of the 2 tools required to remove the fan. As cowling will only come out once fan is out.

I use a spanner on the fan pulley nuts to hold the pulley and water pump shaft from rotating.....the using a Viscous fan spanner (they are sized 32mm and 36mm IIRC) to undo the fan nut....not sure on the Td6 but the M62 is a left hand thread....(in anycase, you undo in the direction of fan rotation).

There appears to be two tools RAVE mentions the LRT-12-214 and LRT-12_094......both are a 32mm AF spanner....I wonder if the TD6 has a 32mm viscous nut and a 32mm set of flats on the water pump shaft, as I can't find any mention of a tool to hold the water pump pulley/shaft as you do with the V8....hmmmm....

A Viscous Fan spanner can be had quite cheaply from Halfords or any Auto Factors....they look like this....

Ok. Cheers for that. I'm going to be picking up the radiator tomorrow. I will let you know of progress. Can you recommend me best way to tackle this please. Pictures would be great if possible.
Any advice from td6 owners would be gods end.

As I said above the RAVE manuals state two tool numbers but both refer to a spanner type object with the same size jaw.... And neither look like a pulley locking tool.

Hence why i said, i wonder if the TD6 water pump shaft also has a set of flats on it so you can hold it while undoing the fan nut.

More research is required as I have only done the V8 model.

Yes I agree. There is vast amount of information on the v8 engine. I've YouTube etc etc. But I can't find nothing on the td6. The most popular of the 2 in my opinion. Maybe not as much now as lpg is the way forward.

Replaced the radiator without the need to remove shroud and fan. It can be done as i had done it. Only thing to to is remove the red bleed valve on the bottom of the rad as it is a squeeze.
