Hi, new poster here.
I have a 2008 SC RR with 90k miles in very good condition.
Having problem with the rear suspension.
1. At normal height the rear suspension on both sides usually drops to the bump stops over night. Not always but most of the time
2. If I raise suspension to off road height, the suspension stays there, left it like that for 3 days this week no problem.
3. I have the Hitachi air compressor which I checked at the weekend.

What do you experts think the problem might be ?
I've ordered a new air dryer canister as I've read it can break down and then block the valves possibly in the rear valve block ? I will change the cannister next week in any case.
But might it be the rear valve block is the real problem ?
Or might it be the level sensor 8k the rear ?
As to next steps should I take the fuses out to see if it still drops when at normal height ? Or any other checks..
Mine is right hand drive. Is the rear valve block on the drivers side rear inner wheel well ?
Any other advice gratefully received ..
Many thanks

Hello and welcome:)
more likely an air bag leaking that is opened up on normal height and close on high, time to get out the soapy water spray and check for air bubbles.

Brought a 2006 l322 SC home to the garage today. It had slammed a pothole and loses air when the car accelerates. The pump goes into overheat and the sensor can't make head nor tail of it.
It does sound like a leak. Lifting the car up to its full height and examination of the air bags all round may reveal degraded airbags.

Hi Brian P
Tks for comment.
It just seems counterintuitive that the air bag would not leak when fully opened / off road height, but would leak when at normal height ?
You think that is possible ?
To inspect the rear air bags with the soapy water do I need to take the wheel off, or can I do it in extended height with the wheel on ?
Many thanks
Will

On normal height a lot of the bag is folded and rolled up inside if there is a small hole on the fold when the height is raised that hole is now not being opened up , we have had this on air bags before, do the checks with the wheels on the ground as you want it under load but put stand under chassis just in case, its a cheap test and if no leaks found then look elsewhere.

The 206 l322 scar the garage has indeed a duff strut and airbag assembly. It'll sit happily at any height until it's moved and pffffff.....
1000€ a pair of dunlops. Struts buggered as well.
