Hi, I wonder if anyone has any ideas on this as my garage are scratching their heads any advice would be massively appreciated? On a 2002 HSE Diesel after my wife left the lights on (seriously) we jump started it and she ran fine until the next day when she was dead. I bought a new battery to no avail and its been in my mates garage for over a week now. We have tried changing the fuel pump which made no difference, changed 2 injectors which again made no difference and now the garage are scratching their heads. If anyone has any suggestions or words of wisdom it would be a real help?
Many thanks
Paul

Change your garage, they're grasping at straws

Diagnostics been done and if so, any fault codes?

Also, it could need a re-sync....

@holidaychicken had an issue with his V8 where it would need to be reset each time the battery was disconnected.
Thanks Saint, I know they ran a test on it but don't think it came up with anything, when you say re-sync do you mean re-syncing the key? Appreciate your advice please.

Would think he means resyncing the BCM to the ECM. Although i am not sure if the L322 uses this function.

There is an immobiliser link between the EWS immobiliser ECU and the Engine ECU that may have got lost although mine was on my petrol.
Mine had a fault logged in the immobiliser and engine ECUs

I've had a lot of problems recently with the electronics on my 2003 4.4 V8. For what it's worth here's my tuppence worth.

When you jump started it did you connect the leads direct to the battery - or the pos and neg posts in the engine bay?

A electrical spike may have been created which has disturbed the ECU. Apart from seeing what the fault codes there are, you might try disconnecting the battery and joining the pos and neg leads of the car together briefly. This usually gets rid of any residual voltage in the system.

However, usually you discover any gremlins immediately after you jump start - not the day after.

The fact that the car ran OK for a day may mean that your problem is not related to the jump start.
