L322 HSE Stereo question ????

Hello All,

one of my first posts on the rangie section since buying my first 2002 L322 hse.

just still working out what extras my range rover has, so far i seem to have every extra that was available at the time, the same spec as the vogue minus the sat nav screen in the dash.

just wondering, after taking my dash apart last weekend to fix my dead pixels in the MID i noticed that in the grille in the middle of the dash had a speaker fitted ?? as far as i knew the standard speaker config on the base models only had the basic speaker package that didnt include this centre dash speaker ?? so looked in the boot and in the left cubby hole it seems i have an amplifier ? would this be for the speakers ? and is this standard kit for the hse models or is it an extra ? i cant seem to find a sub woofer in the boot tho...

so to sum it up, i have a total of 9 speakers that i can find. the rear doors have two speaker grilles in each door but i can only hear the bottom base speakers working so im guessing the top grilles have no speakers fitted ?

I will try and post a pic of this so called amplifier i think i have

Hi Hippo. I have exactly the same as you (2002 HSE with all Vogue options inc. heated seats in rear, except vogue seats adn sat nav) Car has been outstanding and reliable for 2 years. I had probs with the stereo - my left side speakers would not work. I bought a second hand amp as the original connector had corroded and broken and all works fine now. Luckily we only have the one amp to bother about and the central speaker should work. If it doesn't then check the connector in the back. Sometimes a good clean can restore the connection.

anyway as the original LR stereo is old and outdated im thinking of getting one of these beasts ...

costs £150 to repair dead pixels might aswell spend the rest and get a satnav, cd, bluetooth, mp3, ipod connection, DVD player, Sd reader !!

I think the harman kardine systems had 15 speakers

just gotta give it a go i guess.

if its not too good i can just send it back

suppose your waiting for me to try it first and see if its any good lol !
