Last year I pulled my L322 apart. new bushes, new subframes. arms everywhere. Never did the four wheel alignment and never got a code come up. its been bomb proof. More welding. new brakes and a new MOT. perfect. New tyres and good ones. still no codes. perfect. Then I blew it and sent it to the garage today to get 4 wheel alignment. They said it was way out. I paid and got no more than 200 yards and it was like a christmas tree. suspension inoperative. ABS everything. stop off they go then when I get to 30mph on they come again.
well how odd. not sure what to think. Its going back in the morning. they said they tested it. urm not so sure.

Yep could have. my son had a disco 3. did some work on it and then when you drove it at 30mph same thing happened. i adjusted the tracking a bit and the faults/error codes stopped instantly. not sure how they could break a sensor, they said they test drove it. maybe at 10mph. bit odd though as it worked fine for at least a year with every camber bolt in the wrong place.

Never had to do it but could the steering angle sensor need recalibrating?

EDIT: Just remembered I did it on a D3 once, it was ok when you turned one way but threw a fault when you turned too far the other way.

Hi there.
yes that could be it. not sure how to do that though. I wonder where this will go. was fine when went in, bad when came out. It was so out and no problems ever. now apparently perfect. ill have to have a read up on steering angle sensor calibration.

Thanks
Stephen

I used my Foxwell on the D3 so presume it will do the L322 also.

Thats scary. not the Foxwell.:) Thought those days were long gone. Im popping it back in the garage tomorrow, but I hope they know what they are up too. Its probably an easy fix for us but a garage, heck I am starting to get palpitations. They must know about issues like this.

I put new track rods on the wife Corsa ages ago and it seemed perfect, steered dead straight until one front wheel hit a wet grid and it shot to the side
Talking of steering, the Son in law had a call from a mate asking to recover him and his Peugeot from the motorway. Once off the motorway and turning right at traffic lights the electronic steering decided to lock. Luckily the S in l was in a big 4x4 and dragged it with him,it ended up mounting a grass verge before following the tow car on the straight:eek: he didn't live far from the lights, when they looked the tow eye was bent, they were using a proper tow rope otherwise it could have snapped and left the Peugeot across two lanes of a dual carriageway.Upon investigation into why the engine stopped it was discovered there wasn't a drop of water in the cooling system,no sign of a leak and overheat warning. When he topped up the header tank it drained as quickly as he poured water in so kept topping up until it filled. Still no sign of a leak inside or out.until he pulled the dipstick out and the engine was full of water, another for the scrapyard:rolleyes:

I was lucky when my head gasket went on Disco 300tdi, just needed a new gasket and fresh oil :D

Ok,
Well it must have had a good rest, as when I drove to the garage it was absolutely fine. nothing. no codes and everything ok. Last night they kept going on. strange how they respond to a bit of rest.
