L322 engine making a weird noise ???

Hello !

driving my car home from work today no problems at all ! left to go out around 15 mins later and noticed the car was making a loud wooshing / hissing noise when accelerating hard - it can be heard more when going past other cars etc.. when reflecting the engine noise !

I can only hear it when revving the engine but its a very loud hissing noise - it sounds as if its comming from the left hand side of the engine (drivers side)

i havent had a chance to have a good look at the engine yet

so anyone have any idea on what my problem could be ?

iv heard it could be a split intercooler hose ??? or a crack in the turbo pipe ?

iv got no loss of power and no smoke - just an annoying noise ?

anyone out there have a clue on this fault ?

just to note - its a 2002, 3.0L td6

well sorted the problem today - after the damm thing lost power on the carriageway this morning.

It was one of the main rubber hoses coming off of the turbo, it had eventually completely come off due to a loose jubilee clip - so was reduced to zero power and 30MPH to limp home !

the hose was a right bast@rd to get to but only took 30 mins to re-attach the hose properly and tightly, and now its back to normal !

glad it wasnt nothing serious !
