Hi I've recently bought a 2003 l322 4.4 v8 petrol range rover. The guy I bought it from had some sort of electrical issue with it which he assumed was a seized alternator. I drove the car home and the alternator seemed fine, was turning free enough and charging 14.6 volts at the battery. I've let it sit for about 4 days now and turned the key and it fired up no issue. However when I rev the engine the on board computer cuts out and the battery light comes on followed by the screech of a slipping belt. Let the car idle again and the battery light goes off and the obc comes on again. Still shows 14.6 volts at idle Any ideas greatly appreciated

Could be a weak belt tensioner - or badly adjusted!

when load comes on the Alternator the belt slips, and when little load, the belt doesn't - best to check belt tension is adjusted correctly and the belt is in good order.

Thanks I'll check that I was just googling and it's a hydraulic tensioner.
