Hi everyone. Went to go out yesterday and my battery was flat. Went to open the bonnet and the cable snaps. Not a good start to the day. I had hoped that since the cable snapped at the handle end it would be an easy fix but alas, my rangey doesnt want to play that game. The bonnet latch is seized and I cannot get it open.
I have tried fishing around with a coat hook, pulling and pushing on the broken cable with pliers but I am not gaining any ground.
Does anyone have experience of releasing the bonnet catch from the bonnet end.

Cheers

Sorry, no...mine snapped at the handle end, but I was able to trim back the outer sheath and pull the cable with pliers...

The cable is in two parts that joins on the drivers side wing....

No very helpful if it snaps as you have to get the bonnet up to change it....

It *should* be possible to hook the cable from the front grill, but it is fiddly, and as I say, never done it!

its a bastard job, lots of swearing lost skin off the fingers and a stroke of luck or just a stroke, same as the e65 bmw. got the scars to prove it. no easy way but to perservere
