sport mode does not give any more hp or tongue. it just changes engine fuel/air. a (example) 250 hp engine will only produce 250 hp weather you take it easy to the limit or weather you do it in 6 seconds.

I asked these questions because I don't understand bhp and torque, what the tolrence ate and what is acceptable, but now I have asked questions I have more idea of what I should or shouldn't do, thanks

The pros and cons were explained to you earlier, i asked why you wanted to chip the car, you said for fuel economy. I explained reference increased performance and fuel economy. You then later say for more pickup speed. You cannot have both. The only possible way of increasing power and torque is to inject more fuel, drive like a nun and you may show a fuel saving on a long steady speed run, use the extra power you will drink fuel.
To get the best out of a vehicle is top notch maintenance and quality fuel.
Make sure air filter is clean, change fuel filter, good exhaust, make sure fuel injectors are working correctly, proper tire inflation, and brakes in good working order ie not dragging or 1 grabbing sooner than the others. also the fuel pump is working and the pick up tube is clear.
If you ask, these old timers will give you good guidance. Don't p1ss them off. Also be able to take criticism, as constructive criticism is a good learning tool.
