[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]Hello all,

Ive just pulled my 2002 L322 out for the first time since June! I’ve got Air Suspension Inactive & HDC inactive coming on the dash. Fault in the Air Suspension ECU is Code 32 = CAN Bus Fault. Any ideas? The fault only clears for a few seconds. When ignition turned off and back on, the compressor will keep coming on and then going off and letting air out and then coming on again. Can anybody help?

Update: I have tested all CAN feeds and supply feeds from Air Suspension ECU to the compressor today and all tested ok. HDC inactive & Air Suspension ECU still coming on a few seconds after starting the engine. Air suspension keeps going up and back down again when its first started up but when it starts coming back down again is when it throws the faults up on the dash. The CAN bus fault won’t clear. Do we think it’s a control unit replacement?

That doesn't give much info. Maybe a bit more detail on where the suspension is sitting. Is it sat on the bump stops? does it go to standard height on all 4 corners then drop again? how long does it take to go up? etc

It’s sitting on standard height, it tries to raise when it’s started up but then air suspension inactive warning comes on and it lowers itself again. Goes up very quickly. I’ve attached the current faults in ABS system. Don’t worry about Brake Fluid as that is a separate issue

Is the brake fluid issue dealt with?
It could contribute to a critical problem.
You could check there is a live feed to the ecu in question and maybe crack the unit open if you've nothing to lose and check for a physical fault.
I had a Saab 900 on the obd1 system showing an internal fault. I had a live and ground feed but when I opened the ecu with the view to replace it.
It was burnt inside. I couldn't program without the use of specific Saab software so the chip was removed and fitted to another unit.

Can you talk to the air suspension ECU? My Foxwell shows me height sensors, pump status, pump temperature,calibration etc, does yours have a similar function?

Brake fluid isn’t dealt with yet as it’s got a broken brake pipe which I haven’t repaired yet. The vehicle isn’t being used but I want to fix this suspension issue before anything else.

As @Mark Piercy says abs maybe causing issues on the can bus that may effect other ECU's. I take it you've cleared the errors using the diag tool but they come back?

BTW I'm far from being an expert so just throwing things out there from personnal experience.

You usually get CanBus faults on the L322 when you have an ABS problem so i'd start there and get the brakes working first.
Is the Hold lamp and air suspension height selector still registering?

The lights are still working; however it is stuck in hold like it does when air suspension is inactive

The air suspension is in a soft fault, if it was a hard fault everything on the height selector would be blank..

Your issue is ABS related..
