Hi,
I have recently had my water pump replaced on the above vehicle and the normal operating temperature is just over half way. (if you imagine the temp guage split into 3 sections, the middle third would be reading 2rds) I can't remember but I'm sure it was running at exactly 1/2 way before the new pump.

Please could you confirm where your pety 4.4 V8's run at, it isn't over heating as such but would just like confirmation so I can relax and enjoy the ride.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys just some info and feedback that I hope helps some people, I have had a problem with my car running hot ever since the water pump was replaced. I have spent countless hours searching the net, reading the manual, asking everyone who would listen. I have also changed my sensor, radiator, thermastat, even went to the effort of refitting my old water pump because I fitted a patterned part, all with no effect.

But today I have found out what the problem was and you'll never believe it ! When I sent it into the second landrover specialist he went through all the system and was happy with the temps and cross referenced them with the gearbox oil temp and the heater matrix temp. But he notiicfed there wher alot of fault codes and asked if I'd had a flat battery or removed the dash recently. The reply was yes I had the dash done about a week before all the faults started and when I was removing it I flattened the battery watching the TV. Well here comes the answer..............When the dash is removed I sent it off for it's new display, for the person to gain access to the display he has to remove the front perspex cover remove all the needles then he can get to the display and when he put the needles back he put them on slightly to far one way !!!!!!!!!

I feel immensly reliefed but incredibly frustrated, The week inbetween getting my display fixed and then getting the water pump done, I didn't notice the temp guage because I was too busy looking at my new display.

I have been extreamly stressed trying to sort this problem out as I didn't want to just leave it as I though it would do my head gasket in if it was running too hot, oh well we live and learn.

Yep me, and it sits slap bang in the middle of the gauge as I remember.
