Im after a little advice if possible.

My Rangie is booked in to the garage in a couple of weeks but there is a possibility she needs a new head gasket

Ive tried researching this but come up with nothing

The garage mentioned that it can lead to a new engine instead - is there any truth in this ?

I appreciate a head gasket isnt the cheapest thing to get done but surely it can be done without replacing a whole egine ?

For referance she is losing a lot of water, about 1.5 ltrs a week in only 80 miles. No obvious leeks anywhere but also cant see any contamination

Anyone got any idea how much i should be looking at paying if it is head gasket ?

Dan

my p38 was losing water .
no signs of leaks or contamination either. i put a bottle of k seal in and its been fine ever since. only a tenner, might be worth a try!
has the engine overheated at all?

dan i know of a guy that was charged £2500 for h/g on the same car as yours, get the price of the garage in wrighting befor it is touched..

yes thermostat blew over xmas - was replaced by me and the new one failed within 2 or 3 weeks

Have currently removed the thermostat

Fearing the head gasket but surprised no smoke, contamination etc
