Hi Guys

I've got to change the pressure sensor loom with the replacement YMQ503320 from L/R this afternoon.

Can anyone point me in the direction of proper instruction on fitting this part?

This is LR tech service bulletin LTB00052 if that helps?

Re: Fuel Rail Pressure sensor & Harness change
Well Ive just changed the loom and all fixed - MIL off car running fine.
Got a good discount from a Land Rover dealer in Kent cost £32.34. The new loom is shorter than the original so has to go directly to the ECU box. Probably the proper way to install this would be to drill a hole in the side of ECU box and install thru there. I made a small cut in the top of one of the rubber shrouds carrying cables into the box and inserted the new cable there instead, wrapping the shroud in insulating tape.
The 3 new wires went into a plug at the front of the box. This is the third plug from the right - I removed the other two to enable access to the plug to be worked on.
The plug you need has one black block and one grey block. Each block is numbered with 4 rows of 13. The two blocks can be slid from the holder to enable fitting the new wires shich are a push fitting.
pin 20 is brown/green
pin 33 is blue/black
pin 35 is white/yellow

So the money Ive saved is going down the bookies for Man Utd to beat Barca

Thanks guys, I had already found that but was hoping to see an original L/R bulletin.

I had a go anyway and was far easier than I expected :)

I cut a small slot in the side of the ECU box and pushed the rubber gasket down into it, with the top on its a nice tight waterproof fit :)

In the end I found the problem this time was the terminals on the sensor, even though I had cleaned them up a few months ago
I have a Roverron box, so the original connector/cable goes into the harness for that and the Roverron box plugs directly into the sensor. So even having a new connector on the sensor hadn't helped!

Hello all, I have found your comments very helpful as I have a repair loom ready to install if my TD4 plays up again, included with the repair loom is a large sponge disc & also there is a small black plastic item with 3 slots which are the same centres as the wires in the sensor plug. Any ideas how these parts fit? Or what each is for?:blabla:

Interestingly enough (or not), LTB00052 doesnt mention the wierd blank connector and the foam disk.

To be honest, the foam disk normally goes over the connector to stop water ingress and if you cut off the existing connector you can thread the wires through the black bank and tape them up in there.

Any other guesses ?

Apart from file one over the left shoulder , one over the right.

Thanks for that, engine running OK at the moment but I have drilled the side of the E- box and fitted the new loom but not yet connected it. While doing that managed to lose the foam disc so I can't use it anyway

What are the symptoms when this as failure?

What symptoms do you have, as way back when I posted on the thread my little problem turned out to be an injector, & the glow plugs which were changed solving the problem, and the FL1 runs fine even today, I know this because when I sold it I am in contact with the person on a regular basis.

Hi thanks for taking time to reply
It’s basically running well but then starts juddering not all the time low speed faster sometimes going round roundabout sometime it’s ok been told it’s a miss ?
four injectors new and tested excellent
Starts on the key hot or cold zero smoke zero codes
The prop seems fine ( taking it off today)
I am on a limited budget so can’t just keep spend £££££££
The only thing makes me think it’s electrical is even in 5th foot on the floor it pulls and no juddering ( sometimes it can )
It’s a 56 td4 125;000 drives excellent all filters done
Thanks
