Disco 2 Knackered key fob

When my son bought his 02 td5 Disco it only came with one key fob. Today the unlock micro switch departed the circuit board. Following a conversation with a landrover dealer for prices for 2 new key fobs and programming he is faced with a bill for just under £400.
Is it possible to disable the imobiliser so access is gained via the key only not the remote fob ?.

Those switches are easy to replace if you can solder.

Ive repaired the fob, but he still has to source a spare key fob and have it programmed.
