Just been for a drive, with lights used mainly full beam for 2 hours, Kenlow switching in every now and again, heater fan. After 2 hour dirve lights went dull. I stopped on drive, switched off and now battery is flat.

I know I am getting some juice from altenator, but is there anyway of testing if it is enought to sustain drain from above I.e. is it cream crackered?

Oh battery is 2 weeks old! and was fully chargered before I set off...

Thanks

45a max output alternator - work out how much yer assorted toys consume before you get all spendy

seem to remember that series had 35 amp alt, a 55 amp a good upgrade. check charging with it running 13.5-14.7v approx

Anyway of telling?

what I got?

there'll be a code stamped/printed on it - 16/17/17ACR or something along those lines

charge the battery over night from the mains - you'll probably just have drawn too much from it having so much on, or ya battery is dying - as long as there's over 14 ish volts across the battery when the engine is running the alt should be fine

If you think your battery is shot, stick a multimeter on it and try to start it, if it drops below 9 volts then you can be sure your battery is shot, remember that frost will kill a flat battery but a charged battery is more resiliant :)

was red light showing , is the connector on alternator and spade terminals ok and not too slack giving poor connection, fan belt tension ok?

So too be clear then 14V over terminals when donk running is heathly alt?

any other way of checking alt?

Oh Charge light not on at any point....
