Right, gonna show me ignorance here.

One of the things me landy failed its MOT on was the OS Kingpin, with a warning that the NS one needed doing soon. What do i need to buy for this (can't find directions anywhere!) - it also failed on a track rod end which i have now sorted! Anywhere i search indicates kingpins only for series vehicles.

They mean the Swivel Pins and Bearings.
Paddocks do a kit of all the parts.
What's yer swivel balls like - might as well do them at the same time if they're pitted.

Or, if it's just a bit of play, you might get away with just removing a shim or two.
Bring it round if yer like and we'll have a look. I did mine a few months back.

Cheers Trewey, will get the bits and let you know (no urgency apparently, just an advisory) - the prop UJ s are way more important apparently so bits on order (fookin propshaft's only done about 6000 miles ffs!)

dint yer ask when yer where at the mot station
Coz i was too speechless about the fookin list of things which had accumulated within 12 months since the last one!!! - also figured i could just search paddocks for "kingpin" when i got home and finished crying, and up it would pop, which it didn't!

Front or rear prop?
Got 2 spare front ones here - one is nearly new and tuvva has brand new GKN UJ's in it.

Apparently it's all of em! (well, the back UJ of both shafts he said) Have emailed paddocks and ordered the new hardy spicer UJs (not too pricey) with some other bits i needed, so got an order heading this way hopefully this week! Told em the props they supplied (both) only did 6000 miles in the hope they'll contribute towards the cost...worth a try!

bitch of a job when i did it on my defender, ****in messy n horrible.

did it on my disco last week and it wasnt so bad but i guess i had a better idea of what i was doin. discos are slightly different though they have bearings top and bottom whereas my defender had bushes and bearings (cant remember which was where though!)

Cheers Trew, will do :D

Found some nice lanes on Bodmin Moor today (me n the girls went for a bit of an impromptu explore! Not sure the Doris is the right person to take along - oh well, happy Mothers day to her!)
