Been reading on here about the software download for the P38 and wondered what it is like to use? I've had a quick look at BBS kicker and thinking this may be a better option. I'm not great with tech stuff, actually, I'm completely bloody useless truth be told! Does the kicker read all systems or just the EAS?

You're probably all getting fed up with all the questions.............. Sorry.... Really appreciate are your help peoples
 
The Kicker is just about reading and fixing the EAS. (It can be used to change ride height level too). The kicker Lite just clears EAS fault codes without telling you what they are so if the fault comes back it hasn’t helped you to find it. The Nanocom is also by BBS and it is a fault reader for all the systems that are readable on your vehicle (on my Classic that is ABS, SRS, EAS, ECU and the Exhaust gas thingy, on a P38 it may be more). With the Nanocom you need to be sure you are buying the right licence to do what you want. I guess that will be a single vehicle all systems licence if you want it to work on your P38. BBS technical support are really helpful, despite their very off-putting ‘help’ notes.
 
The kicker is purley for the EAS and only clears a fault the software will clear faults and run calibration settings and more.
if you are stuck i can plug it in your not far down the road and i am getting bored sitting at home:(

I think you may be referring to the Kicker Lite. The Kicker does calibrate EAS and tell you what the fault is, at least on my Classic.https://blackbox-solutions.com/shop/category/basic-bits
 
If you buy the EAS Kicker, sooner or later you will need a Nanocom !!

Download the free EAS-Unlock software & buy the cable from Datatek. Then buy the Nanocom because it will do EAS plus everything else.

I've just remembered, the chap I bought the car off of said that he tried to find the fault with the ABS system but there wasn't any power at the port, did all pre 2000 38's have a working obi plug?
 
So looking at the Nanocom, am I right in thinking that you only get software for one vehicle or am I reading it wrong? I obviously need it for the 38's but I also have an L322.
 
Nanocom is single car type per license, but you can have multiple licenses. Nano doesn't do much on L322. Icarsoft i930 will reads & clear faults on L322 but doesn't do EAS calibration and similar programming. Apparently BMW INPA is the one for that.
