after a days playin 2day me mates 3.9 v8 rr 1992 auto stopped changing gear you have to floor the arse of it to get the revs right round for it 2 change and then you can only get it up into 2nd and when you let the revs die down it goes back down to first.

the kickdown cable/mechanism is what we thinks at fault,does the cable go directly into the gearbox or is there a mechanism on top of the box.

any help pls..ta
 
Ive just used this quote on another thread - taken from Ashcroft transmissions web site -
If the vehicle is a Disco I or Range Rover Classic you may want to adjust the kickdown cable if you want to fine tune the shift pattern, the looser the cable the softer and earlier the shifts, the tighter the cable, the harder and later the shifts.
