Had to laugh at first reply

Can I use a piece of of a pukka pie tin ?

Yes anything like that, just be sure it only touches the + on the first battery to go in and not the edge of the second one. Bit of electrical tape over strip if needed sorts that.

Keys are pre programed by huff in Germany to your car, no other key will work, the link I put up has all the bits to sort your key and referb it at same time.

If that is just the battery cover then I've got one you can have. It's plastic tho' with a small metal strip for the battery connection. Is that the thing?
PM me if you want it and I'll post it.

thank you everyone for messages, I have got the key working now as in flashing ! now I need to try and unlock doors as superlocked I think due to lock probs,

door lock is jammed and wont open with the key, have tried taking battery off and reconnecting to see if it recognises once put back on -but did not work, I need to figure out if I can do anything else to release the lock

Key should always open drivers door lock unless the connecting rod has come adrift.
