Hi Guys,

This has just started happening...

Message on dash says "Key in Ignition" after I have removed the key. When I shut the door it will not lock with the key fob. It will manually lock with the key...

When it is locked with the key i can then unlock it with the key fob. As soon as it is unlocked the dash says "Key in Ignition", even though it isn't.

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks,
Steve

I didn't expect something so simple...

Will a squirt of WD40 do the srick or would you recomend something a bit thicker consistency...

Cheers,
Steve

Yeah mine did that, use a bit of graphite powder, most locksmiths have it. In the mean time if it does it just give the inner part of the ignition barrel a shove in snd out with your finger it`ll free it....

Thanks guys,

Managed to get hold of some graphite dry lubricant powder.

A couple of puffs into the key barrel and "hey presto" back to normal.

If only all P38 faults were spo easy to fix..,.

Once again, thanks.

Steve
